Official Handover of Sh. 10 Million CSR Project at Gatondo Primary School

we had the honor of attending the official handover ceremony for a Sh. 10 million Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project initiated by the Safaricom Foundation at Gatondo Primary School. This landmark project is set to greatly enhance the educational environment for our students and is a testament to the commitment of the Safaricom Foundation to support quality education in our communities.

Project Highlights:

The CSR project includes several key developments that will significantly improve the infrastructure and resources at Gatondo Primary School:

  • Construction of a New ECDE Class: A new Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) classroom to provide a conducive learning environment for our youngest learners.
  • Renovation of 8 Classes: Upgrades to eight existing classrooms to enhance the learning experience for students.
  • Construction of 6-Door Toilets for Girls: New sanitation facilities to ensure the health and dignity of our female students.
  • 10,000 Litre Water Tanks (5): Installation of five large water tanks to provide a reliable water supply for the school.
  • 270 Lockers and Chairs: Provision of new lockers and chairs to facilitate better learning conditions for students.

Acknowledgments:

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Madam Susan Karimi, Stock Controller at Safaricom and an alumnus of Gatondo Primary School, for her dedication and support in bringing this project to fruition. Our thanks also go to the Safaricom Foundation for their commitment to making a positive impact in the community.

In addition to this generous donation, we are pleased to announce that we have allocated Sh. 5 million for the construction of a Junior Secondary Laboratory through the Manyatta NG-CDF Kit. This investment will further enhance educational opportunities for our students.

Presence of Dignitaries:

The event was graced by several esteemed guests, including Mr. Peter Njihia, Safaricom Territory Business Lead, Provost Rev. Obadiah Kinyua, and Dr. Rev. Jackson Ngari, ACK Diocesan Secretary, among others. Their presence underscored the collaborative efforts of various stakeholders in advancing education in our community.
