Courtesy Call by NG-CDF Committee to Prepare for the Establishment of Constituency Digital ICT Hubs in Manyatta
We are excited to announce a pivotal development in the digitization efforts within Manyatta Constituency. The National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) Committee recently made a courtesy call as part of their preparations for setting up constituency digital ICT hubs across Manyatta. These hubs will be critical in bridging the digital divide and enhancing access to information and technology for the local community.
First Phase of ICT Hub Rollout:
The first phase of the project will see the establishment of ICT hubs in Kairuri and Kanorori. These hubs will provide community members, particularly students and entrepreneurs, with access to digital resources, internet services, and digital literacy programs, empowering them to thrive in an increasingly technology-driven world. The hubs are designed to promote innovation, education, and economic growth by providing access to vital ICT infrastructure at the ward level.
Fund Allocation:
The NG-CDF Committee has already allocated funds to ensure the successful setup of ICT hubs in different wards across Manyatta. This strategic initiative is part of a broader effort to ensure that every ward benefits from modern digital infrastructure, enabling wider access to technology and information services that are crucial for education, business, and civic engagement.
Dignitaries and Key Participants:
The courtesy call was attended by a distinguished group of Members of Parliament who play a crucial role in advancing this project:
- Hon. Musa Sirma Cherutich (Chairman, NG-CDF Committee)
- Hon. Nduyo Susan Ngugi
- Hon. (Dr.) Ogolla Gideon Ochanda
- Hon. Oyula Joseph Maero
- Hon. Kiprono Alfred Mutai
- Hon. Nyamita Mark Ogolla
In addition to the MPs, representatives from key stakeholders were also present, including:
- Officers from the Ministry of ICT
- Konza Technopolis
- ICT Authority and other prominent partners who are instrumental in driving Kenya’s digital transformation agenda.
Empowering the Community Through ICT:
The establishment of these ICT hubs aligns with the national goal of achieving universal access to technology and fostering digital inclusion. By equipping communities with ICT resources, we are empowering students, entrepreneurs, and professionals with the tools they need to succeed in a digital age. These hubs will provide training in digital literacy, access to the internet, and the use of government e-services, enhancing local development and innovation.
Moving Forward:
This project is just the beginning of a broader vision to digitally transform Manyatta Constituency. We are committed to ensuring that every resident has access to modern technological resources, enabling them to fully participate in the digital economy. As we continue to roll out these hubs, we will work closely with the community, local leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure that this initiative meets the needs of the people.
Special Thanks:
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the NG-CDF Committee, the MPs, and all officials from the Ministry of ICT, Konza Technopolis, and the ICT Authority for their dedication and partnership in bringing this transformative project to Manyatta.
