Hon. Mukunji Flags Off 10,000-Litre Water Tanks to 12 Schools in Manyatta Constituency!
We are excited to announce that Hon. John Gitonga Mukunji, MP for Manyatta Constituency, has officially flagged off 10,000-litre water tanks to be delivered to 12 schools across the constituency. This vital initiative, aimed at improving water access and storage in schools, is part of the ongoing efforts to enhance the learning environment and address challenges related to water supply in educational institutions.
Solving Water Challenges in Schools:
Many schools in the constituency have been facing difficulties due to high water bills and limited water storage, which disrupt day-to-day operations and create additional financial burdens. By providing these large-capacity water tanks, we are offering a sustainable solution that will help schools store enough water to meet their needs, significantly reducing their reliance on external water sources and cutting down on costs.
Beneficiary Schools:
The following 12 schools will receive the 10,000-litre water tanks, ensuring that students and staff have easy access to clean water for drinking, hygiene, and sanitation:
- St. Monica Special School
- Kiandundu Primary School
- St. Joseph Allamano Primary School
- Kihumbu Primary School
- Iveche Primary School
- Tende Primary School
- St. Benedict Secondary School
- Kenga Secondary School
- Keria Primary School
- St. Mark’s Rutune Primary School
- Gicherori Primary School
- Ndunda Primary School
Impact on the Schools:
The provision of these water tanks will have a long-lasting impact on the beneficiary schools by:
- Boosting water storage capacity, ensuring that schools have a reliable water supply throughout the day.
- Reducing operational costs, particularly in terms of high water bills, allowing schools to redirect funds to other important needs.
- Improving hygiene and sanitation, by making water easily available for handwashing, cleaning, and drinking.
- Supporting students’ well-being, as regular access to water is essential for their health and overall school experience.
A Step Toward Sustainability:
This initiative is part of a broader strategy to ensure that all schools in Manyatta have sufficient water storage facilities. By continuing to provide water tanks and other essential infrastructure, we are committed to supporting education through improved living and learning conditions.
Acknowledgments:
We would like to express our gratitude to Hon. John Gitonga Mukunji for his leadership in driving this project forward. Special thanks go to the school administrations and communities for their cooperation and commitment to improving the education environment for the students of Manyatta.
Together, we are creating a sustainable and thriving learning environment for the next generation!
