Hon. Mukunji Engages with Traders at Embu Main Market on Development Issues

Hon. Mukunji recently visited the Embu Main Market in Embu Town, taking time to engage directly with traders and hear their thoughts on various development matters. The visit provided an opportunity for the traders to voice their concerns and share their perspectives on ongoing and future projects that affect the market and surrounding areas.

During the engagement, Hon. Mukunji assured the traders of the national government’s commitment to the timely completion of the market’s development project. He acknowledged the importance of the market to the local economy, emphasizing that it is a vital hub for trade and livelihoods in Embu County. He also reiterated that the government’s focus is to create a conducive environment for business by ensuring infrastructure projects are completed efficiently and with the traders’ needs in mind.

“Engaging with the people at the grassroots level is essential to ensure that development projects are not only completed on time but are also aligned with the needs and expectations of the community,” said Hon. Mukunji. “We must ensure that the voice of the ‘mwananchi’ is heard and respected in the implementation of projects. Their involvement and input are key to successful and sustainable development.”

Hon. Mukunji further emphasized that the government will continue working hand in hand with local communities and stakeholders to address any challenges that may arise during the development process. He encouraged the traders to remain patient and committed as efforts to modernize the market and improve facilities are underway.

The traders appreciated the opportunity to speak directly with their leader and expressed optimism about the future of the market, trusting that the government’s intervention would bring much-needed improvements to boost trade and enhance the market’s functionality.
