In a significant step towards enhancing local commerce and community development, Hon. Mukunji recently inspected the ongoing construction of the 4-storey Embu main market located in Embu town. This landmark project, initiated by the National Government through the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, promises to provide a modern space for trade while boosting local employment and economy.

During the visit, Hon. Mukunji engaged in constructive discussions with the contractor regarding crucial aspects of the project, including the employment of youths, timely completion, and the sourcing of materials. A notable agreement reached during the engagement is that 90% of both skilled and unskilled labor will be sourced locally, requiring only an ID card for employment. This initiative aims to empower local communities by providing job opportunities and fostering economic growth within the region

Hon. Mukunji expressed his gratitude to H.E. President William Samoei Ruto for the commitment and support towards this landmark project. The establishment of the new market is anticipated to not only transform the commercial landscape of Embu town but also create a ripple effect of positive economic development in the area.
