Tarmacking of Kairuri-Kiriari-Gaciigi Road Officially Begins
The long-awaited tarmacking of the Kairuri-Kiriari-Gaciigi road has officially commenced, marking a significant milestone in improving infrastructure within Manyatta Constituency. This project, spearheaded by Hon. Gitonga Mukunji, fulfills a promise made to the residents and is set to transform connectivity and boost economic activities in the region.
The road, which cuts across key villages in the constituency, will enhance the movement of goods and services, provide better access to markets, schools, and healthcare facilities, and significantly reduce travel time for residents. The construction will include:
- A well-designed drainage system to mitigate flooding and ensure durability.
- Pedestrian walkways for the safety of road users.
- Enhanced access to public utilities, benefiting local businesses and households.
In his remarks during the project inspection, Hon. Gitonga Mukunji emphasized the commitment to ensuring quality work and timely completion. “This road is not just about connecting villages; it is about unlocking the economic potential of our people,” he stated.
Community-Centered Approach
The project has incorporated a community-centered approach by engaging local labor to create job opportunities for residents. Over 80% of the workforce, including both skilled and unskilled labor, has been sourced locally, boosting household incomes and fostering a sense of ownership among the community.
Gratitude to Stakeholders
Hon. Mukunji expressed his gratitude to H.E. President William Samoei Ruto and the national government for allocating resources to this transformative project. He reiterated his resolve to continue advocating for additional funds to expand road infrastructure across Manyatta Constituency.
A Vision for Better Infrastructure
This project is part of a broader vision by Hon. Gitonga Mukunji to enhance infrastructure development in Manyatta, aiming to improve living standards and attract investments to the constituency.
Residents of Kairuri, Kiriari, and Gaciigi expressed their appreciation and optimism about the project, noting that it would address decades-long challenges of poor road conditions and inaccessibility.
Stay tuned for updates as the project progresses towards completion, bringing the promise of a brighter future to Manyatta Constituency.
