Kirimari, Manyatta – Education in Manyatta Constituency has received a significant boost following the handover of six classrooms—two newly constructed and four renovated—at Embu County Comprehensive Primary School by Hon. Gitonga Mukunji. This development is part of an ongoing effort to enhance learning environments and improve access to quality education in the region.
Addressing Infrastructure Needs in a High-Population School
With over 1,400 pupils, Embu County Comprehensive Primary School is one of the largest primary institutions in the area. Despite its high enrollment, the school has consistently recorded commendable academic performance, thanks to the unwavering commitment of teachers, the Board of Management, and parents. Recognizing the school’s potential and challenges, the Manyatta NG-CDF has prioritized infrastructure development to ensure that students learn in a conducive environment.
Ongoing and Future Developments
Hon. Gitonga Mukunji reaffirmed his commitment to transforming the school into a Centre of Excellence, with additional projects already in the pipeline.
🔹 Renovation of More Classrooms: Additional funding has been allocated to upgrade more classrooms, ensuring that every student has access to well-equipped and comfortable learning spaces.
🔹 Construction of an Ablution Block: To improve sanitation and hygiene, funds have been earmarked for the construction of a modern ablution block, addressing a critical need for the growing student population.
🔹 Support for Embu County Secondary School: Recognizing the importance of continuity in education, Hon. Mukunji announced that Embu County Secondary School, the sister institution, will also benefit from NG-CDF funding for the completion of a tuition block. This will help accommodate more students and provide improved learning facilities for secondary education.
