Hon. Gitonga Mukunji, Member of Parliament for Manyatta Constituency, joined family and friends of Berea Kageni, affectionately known as Mama Makena, in a heartfelt event held in Muraru, Mbeere South Constituency, to honor her beloved parents.
The ceremony was a touching celebration of gratitude and legacy—recognizing the sacrifices, love, and foundation laid by parents in shaping generations.

“The Bible reminds us to honor our father and mother so that our days may be long upon the land. This is a command with a promise, and today we witnessed that truth in action,” said Hon. Mukunji.
He commended the spirit of appreciation shown by Berea and her family, noting that honoring one’s parents is a powerful act of faith, culture, and community strength.
“As leaders and citizens, we must never forget where we come from. Honoring our parents is the beginning of wisdom, and a strong society is built on such values,” he added.
The event drew family, friends, and local leaders who came together in prayer, reflection, and joyful fellowship to celebrate the lives of two pillars whose influence continues to guide the family’s journey.
